Eliott Goretsky was born 'Elihu' Goretsky to Maurice and Claire Goretsky in Santa Clara, California. He attended Bellarmine College Preperatory in San Jose, where he performed in many plays and excelled on the speech and debate team during his senior year. Eliott went on to U.C. Irvine, where he received his B.A. in Dramatic Art.
