Rockin Dopsie Jr.，Zydeco musician Rockin Dopsie was born Alton Rubin on Feb. 10, 1932, in Carencro, LA. He began playing zydeco in the 1950s in clubs in rural Louisiana. He started to become nationally known in the 1960s, released a couple of albums and did extensive touring in the US and Europe for more than a decade.
