Jim Ounniyom was born in Laos and is the youngest of seven. His family arrived in the United States in 1986 as refugees. Jim grew up in Richmond, California and studied at San Francisco State University and graduated with a degree in TV and Film directing. Jim lives and work in Los Angeles.
