Dagmar Biener was born and raised in Berlin. At the age of three she appeared in the movie 'Stips' as daughter of Gustav Fröhlich. Joining children's ballet at the Friedrichstadtpalast she began a substantial ballet training at early age. Her later drama school teacher was Else Bongers in Berlin.
