Stephen Herbert is a museum consultant, and specialist in the origins of cinema. Involved in image projection for 50 years he has a particular interest in Eadweard Muybridge, and the 19th-century optical devices that first gave lifelike movement to sequence pictures. He has appeared in several films and television series talking about film history.
