Opetaia Babakobau was born in Suva, Fiji Islands August 31, 1983 to Susana L. Babakobau (née Celea) and Opetaia Babakobau Sr who is a Welder. He was raised in Fiji and at the of 8 his family migrated to American Samoa. Opetaia Babakobau hails from the Chiefly island of Bau. He is of Polynesian descent and is full blooded Fijian.
