Melissa Anne Smith was born on January 21, 1992 in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. At the age of four, Melissa along with her parents and sister moved to Sudbury, Ontario. She began performing in professional theatre at the age of nine. Her first appearance in professional theatre was in Sudbury Theatre Centre`s production of "Pinocchio".
