理查德·沙耶尔，Hollywood scenarist/screenwriter, a former newspaper journalist, in films from silent days. The son of an army officer, he trained for acting at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and got into screenwriting after World War I military service. Rose to an executive position at Universal in the 1930's.
