Desmond Dickinson，British cinematographer, in films from the age of seventeen as a laboratory assistant. Graduated to lighting cameraman in the late 1920's, often put to work on low-budget 'quota quickies' for Gainsborough, Welsh-Pearson and Stoll studios. During World War II, he worked on propaganda and training films.
