Paul Maibaum is the younger son of screenwriter Richard Maibaum (writer of 13 James Bond screenplays). He graduated from USC School of Cinema (B.A.). Upon graduation he immediately found work as a film loader working for Director of Photography Michael P. Joyce at his company Filmart.
