By the end of the 1990s, and in a city that resembles a mysterious kingdom, the son of an executioner falls in love with the daughter of a wedding singer. In hidden worlds separated by customs that prevent its people from satisfying the instinct of discovery except through memory and written stories, the filmmakers try to examine a time before the ongoing changes in Saudi Arabia.
