Samantha and her daughter Blake invite Chloe, a foreign exchange student from the UK, to their California home. The two girls quickly become close friends, but Samantha's unease begins with the suspicious death of Blake's boyfriend. In order to prove her daughter's innocence, Samantha discovers that Chloe's ultimate plan is to "adopt" Samantha as her "mom".
