In 1993, Beatriz Flores Silva, chief fellow with training in Belgium, returned home to direct the conduct of "The True History Pepita about the Holster", a film projected at the beginning as the first of a trilogy about the condition of the women in contemporary Uruguayan society. Based on true events between February and June 1988, when a desperate woman steeled himself and holding the handle of a broken umbrella made a series of daring raids on houses of credit, Beatriz Flores managed to form a very human picture, combining a simple story with a narrative efficiency seldom achieved by the national cinema.
