Paula can't stand it when her husband Kurt always calls her "Moppelchen". Especially not because Paula has slimmed down a lot lately and is almost the same size as she was 20 years ago. Unfortunately, the busy real estate agent Kurt has no eye for it. The surprising news of the death of her sister, with whom she had fallen out, suddenly pulls Paula out of the gray everyday life of the marriage. At the funeral, Paula learns that Barbara has left behind a daughter who is the same age as Paula's and Kurt's son Daniel. Her name is Maggie and impresses Paula and Daniel with their plan to renovate Paula's parents' house, the run-down inn "Zum Schwan". Little does Paula suspect that Kurt has had a secret relationship with the young fitness trainer Verena for a long time. The "Zum Schwan" inn, located on a picturesque lake, would be the ideal property for Kurt and Verena to do a profitable business with a hotel chain.
