Based on true story, Hermogenes, a farmhand, takes a job with a butcher in Buenos Aires and quickly finds himself exploited, extorted and manipulated by his boss, Don Latuada. Illiterate and trapped by his circumstances, Hermogenes reaches a breaking point that leads to tragedy.
