USSR, Baku, end of the 80s. A group of young boys works at the Seaside Park as costumed dolls for photographing. Dolls at home, in society and at work also dolls … they try to break free. Everything in their life is for the first time – love, friendship, betrayal. They invent life from scratch, even their freedom is of their own kind, a doll-like freedom. Their childhood ends with the collapse of the empire. Having gained the freedom, they turn into dolls to be played with on a larger scale. Chingiz F. Rasulzade Chingiz Rasulzade was born in 1972 in Baku (Azerbaijan) in a family of engineers. As a child he attended the Azerbaijan State College of Arts which he completed in 1992. In 1998 Chingiz graduated from the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts. His passion for filmmaking took him to Moscow, where he enrolled at the Pan-Russian State Institute of Cinematography (VGIK) from which he graduated in 2004.
