Clowns tells the story of Matilda, who is attempting to put together a beautiful vigil for her best friend Brian, who has recently died mysteriously. It's about a small group of people that can't stand each other, but are drawn together because of one amazing person that could not only tolerate each of them, but find the good in them and make them feel special. But when the person that binds them together dies, then what do these people do around each other?
