The film tells the story of a small mining village in Morocco's Khouribiga Region, and the changes it goes through between 1921 and 1947. During this period, the town changes quickly from an agricultural to an industrial community, and sees an influx of people coming from other regions of Morocco because of the mining boom, as well as miners from other countries.
