Bajapa Mahapat and his wife are blessed with a son when they are in their late 40s.Bajapa earns his living carting a bio scope from school to school, village to village,and his wife increases her home visits working as maid to give best education and facilities to their son Digamber since childhood Digamber feels ashamed of his parents profession and during their old age he decides to take up engineering.Bajapa sells his ancestral land to cope up with his educational expenses.While studying engineering Digamber starts to live in a city hostel to minimize contacts from his parents.One day Bajapa goes to meet him and gets a shock when Digamber refuses to recognize him as his father and the sweets which his ailing mother had sent him are given to hostel security guard.But the worst is yet to come when Digamber secretly marries a film producer's daughter without notifying his parents living them heartbroken with many tragedies to come.
