“The World from Dawn till Dusk” is a project within which a group of famous Polish documentary filmmakers will run workshops for film school students from the following five cities: Minsk, Kiev, Moscow, Beijing and Tokyo. Within the framework of the workshops an hour long documentaries, being the portraits of those cities, will be made. The concept of the workshops and the films is based on the original idea of Mirosław Dembiński and Maciej Drygas entitled „Lodz from Dawn till Dusk”, which has been put in practice for the past three years and carried out by the students of the Polish National Film School in Lodz. The project was highly evaluated by Adam Mickiewicz Institute and has been incorporated into the Polish culture abroad promotion programme to do with Polish presidency within the European Union. The project received a positive opinion of the Polish Film Institute because it carries out the aims of the Institute specified in „Film Education and Promotion of Film Culture”, as well as “Film Production” priority programmes. The project was well received by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and also received organizational and financial support from the Polish diplomatic posts in several cities. Polish Television has declared its readiness to get involved in the project, as well as broadcasting the films.
