Barbara Lamprecht's husband is head physician in a German hospital. When she learns that he's cheating on her again, this time with her best friend, she seeks comfort in a night with Jan, who's in Germany on political asylum. The same night a farmer is killed, and all signs point to Jan. Barbara doesn't have the courage to disclose his alibi.
