The first story deals with the dictionary meaning of depth ― as “from outside to inside” and “further away.” The second story expresses the emotional meanings of depth such as cravings and desires. The third story goes through an incomprehensible repetition of words just like being sandwiched between two mirrors, and inquires the end of baffling situations and the sunlight, finally. The title is self-explanatory. This film started with the simple purpose of finding out how to shoot a “deep” film. It seems as though when the audience lauds a piece of art with the words “magnificence,” “splendor,” and so on, the word “depth” also seems to stroll right behind. Well then, who is the first to describe such a film as deep? And are we to naturally understand and identify with that feeling or does that depth become necessary? This film is a collection of three of my short thoughts about depth.
