A collection of short documentaries by Uruguayan filmmaker Ugo Ulive, shot in Venezuela between 1969 and 1972. Includes: Basta!, 1969 [b&w; 20 min.] -- Caracas, dos o tres cosas, 1969 [b&w; 16 min.] -- Diamantes, 1969 [b&w; 22min.] -- TO3, [1972] [b&3; 23 min.]. The fruits of his teachings are seen today all over Latin America. Directors like Ugo Ulive in Caracas or Jorge Curi in Montevideo (to mention but two of his most talented disciples) are shining examples of Atahualpa's influence on other generations. In the 1960s, filmmakers such as Ugo Ulive and Mario Handler reflected the tumultuous times of the country with a revolutionary and popular style. The dictatorship of the 70s did not allow any dissidence against the regime and resulted in only some fictional films of little interest. The return to democracy did not affect the local film industry at first. Moviegoers had to wait nearly 10 year for the release of the first fictional movie of note, El Dirigible in 1994.
