Siva and Abhirami are neighbours and close family friends. Their parents belong to the same village and have escaped to Chennai to lead a peaceful life, because the village is divided into two factions due to a generation feud. The parents wish to have get children married to each other which they see as the only way to put an end to the feud. But Siva and Abhirami are always fighting each other. They have two friends in love - Bhagath Singh and Sundarambal, who are separated by Sundarambal's greedy smuggler father Kasinathan . A plan executed by Siva to help them unite leads to more problems and confusions. The rest deals with how Siva solves all the problems and successfully marries Abhirami and also helps his friends unite.
