CONFIDENTIAL PITCH DUE TO SECURITY How do you remain human in the face of war? Oby is a radio host in Damaskus on a regime-controlled network when the uprising of Syria starts in 2011. She goes to the streets to document the uprising together with her close artist/activist friends: Dana, Houssam, Rabea, Argha, Hisham and Lulu. In the beginning the goal is clear. Get rid of Assad' s regime and all it's ugliness, achieve freedom to be whoever you want to be. Spread beauty in the face of ugliness. Find a more truthful way of being. Oby and her friends are radical. They have fought for honesty their entire life. Oby quits her job to join the peaceful uprising. Oby and Dana start a trip around the country. They want to document the changes to Syria as the revolution spread. But instead they find themselves on a path that goes deeper into the decent of Syria. The group of friends solace in the mountains close to the Turkish border. But decide to return to the uprising.
