Ram and Laxman. Ram, who aspires to be a police inspector, is continuously being dissuaded by Laxman who wants him to become a school peon. The differences make Ram leave the village and Laxman reciprocates by severing all bonds with him. As life advances, Laxman mortgages his land. Satvajirao, the usurer is after the money hoarded in some secret place in the plot. Accompanied by Zendu mama, the brother-in-law of Laxman, he tries to torture Laxman and the latter accidentally meets his death. Laxman's son Bhalu becomes a peon in a school where Mangala, a teacher and Shevanta, a Tamasha artist arrive by some coincidence. Shantanu, the son of Ram who looks like Bhalu, visits Mangala and is mistaken by the villagers for Bhalu. The misunderstanding leads to the revelation of Satvajirao's plan to acquire Bhalu's land. Meanwhile, Mangala and Shevanta realize that they are twins separated from each other long ago. Everyone rallies behind Bhalu and help him recover his land.
